Curtin PhD graduates wear a distinctive PhD gown, the design of which is unique to the University. The burgundy gown has black facings and sleeves fully lined in black. The gown has fixings at the top of the facings to wear the gown closed. Velcro at the shoulders keeps the burgundy and black coloured hood in place. Headwear is a black velvet bonnet with black cord and tassels.
